Happy Valentines Day.....well....close enough!

This year, like every other year, by the time February hits you just want it not to be winter anymore! Any fun you can possibly have that will distract is great so.....our ward had a Valentine ball. They wanted it to be fancy, well, any chance for me to dress up is fantastic! However, after much unsuccessful effort to get some fellow ward members to join in the fun, Trent and I went to dinner with a few couples before the dance. It's a good thing we rounded up the few we did since we were the only ones at the ball! Can you believe that? Anyway, here's my plug...support your local ward activites!
Since that romantic evening suffered greatly...thank goodness for awesome parents! We got to go to the Billy Joel/Elton John concert the weekend after Valentines and we stayed overnight at the Little America Hotel afterward, now that was fun! I only have two words for you...Cherry Pie!

Trent runs a half marathon!

So Trent had a little challenge...his big mouth got him in some trouble, can you believe that?  He used to always comment how "hiking 13 miles a day was the same as running 13 miles," and "he could go out and run a marathon anytime," yada yada yada. Anyway one day we got into it and he said he could....I said, "it's not that you can't, it's that you won't, you don't have the discipline!" Well, the challenge was on and he was out to prove me wrong! Congratulations Hun, you did it! And he learned his lesson as well! He set out to run a full but the race filled up too quickly, his family decided they wanted to run the St. George half so it worked out to be a great compromise. He trained hard, had many sore muscles, knee injuries, foot pains, and could be heard saying, "what was I thinking..." I loved every minute of it! In the end, I think we both had a new appreciation for each other.  It ended up being a fun filled family weekend and I was only a little bit sad that I couldn't join in the fun.

Kind of looks like we already had our third according to this picture huh?

After the race, everyone took a break in the hot tub then jumping in the icy pool!
Mika thought that sounded fun, but of course she changed her mind.

Grandma Cheryl was happy to get a picture in with the kiddies. They were all very proud of their parents. And of course if there is swimming involved the kids are going to have a great time!
